Shell is currently seeking a Mine Planning Engineer* to work at the Fort McMurray Albian Sands mining project.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for mine planning including pit dewatering, road and ramp design  
  • Mine modeling with Pit bench design and equipment scheduling  
  • Cost scheduling and special projects



Requirements:


  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • No "fly in, fly out" option is offered with this position. Relocation to Fort McMurray is required
  • B.S. Mining Engineering
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • 6 years previous actual experience in mine operations, mine engineering field support, mine planning and scheduling
  • Strong computer skills, with Vulcan Software experience preferred
  • Strong coordination and prioritization skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Good task management and reporting skills
  • Ability to effectively manage contracts
  • Working towards Professional Engineering status
