Shell Exploration & Production Company (SEPCo) is responsible for safely finding, developing and producing oil and natural gas in the United States. Shell has been operating in the Gulf of Mexico for five decades and these operations provide more than 73 percent of our U.S. oil and gas production.
 
SEPCo, which employs approximately 2,000 people in the U.S., is the largest of Shell's E&P operating units, accounting for 17 percent of Shell's worldwide oil and gas production. Based in Houston, Texas, our key operating locations are in the Gulf of Mexico, South Texas, Wyoming, Alabama, and Alaska. 
 
Shell Exploration and Production Company is currently seeking an Improvements Process Manager for its New Orleans, Louisiana location.


Responsibilities:


In this position, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the process to prioritize and effectively execute all non-physical improvement efforts within EPW RPD. You will be accountable for optimizing resource capacity and maximizing value while managing the rate of change across the EPW RPD organization.
 
Key Accountabilities Include: 
  • Delivering Operational Excellence Plan for EPW RPD. This includes all areas directly operated in the Region (The Operational Excellence Plan is the foundational process by which EPW RPD agrees the improvement efforts it will undertake in a given year. It includes significant coordination across internal departments, EPW operating units across the entire Region, Global process owners, and EPW Directorates other than RPD)
  • Prioritizing all non-physical improvement efforts in EPW RPD. These efforts include many that EPW RPD drives internally (However, it also includes efforts from other EPW Directorates and Global organizations)
  • Managing the implementation of the improvement efforts in EPW RPD (Project Managers work directly for the Improvements Process Manager. Other Project Managers are in other departments but are managed by the Improvements Management Process)
  • Optimizing the resource capacity available for improvement projects
  • Managing the rate of change in EPW RPD
  • Managing the Controllable Overhead budget for RPD Leadership Team ($33 million in 2007)
  • Maintaining EPW Operational Excellence planning process, including workshops that involve every OpCo in the Americas
  • Maintaining EPW RPD Improvements Management Process
  • Maintaining EPW RPD Improvements Process Team
  • Creating of annual Performance Contracts for all RPD L3 managers in the Americas
  • Maintaining EPW RPD Practices Worth Replicating (PWR) process
  • Advising Production Engineering T&OE organization regarding development of Global Operational Excellence standard
  • Advising other operating Regions (EPE, EPA, EPG) and Global Business Improvements Team for implementation of Operational Excellence planning and improvements prioritization process.
  • Implementing Total Reliability at Brazil’s Fluminense FPSO
  • Delivering the Field Supervisors’ Conference for EPW RPD, with participants from each area of the Americas
  • Leading and steering teams, which are responsible for Region-wide processes
  • Maintaining Total Reliability Owners Group
  • Improving Management Team
  • Improving Owners Group (production capability, smart fields, technology implementation)
  • Maintaining HSE Coordinating Committee
  • Maintaining HSE Improvements Steering Team
  • Maintaining handheld computer project for EPW with extension to the Global Tactical Team
  • Maintaining Remote Operations project for Brutus
  • Performing benchmarking for all operating assets in the Region
  • Documenting management improvements through the Business Controlled Document team
  • Delivering results with resources that are routinely outside span of control
  • Communicating with all levels of the organization (operator to Vice President)
  • Maintaining change management principles in projects being managed by various groups around the Region



Requirements:


To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience along with 10 plus years in supervisory and operational experience. You must have demonstrated change leadership and project management and implementation.
